i. ain’t. bovvered. ya, see?

Sorry about yesterday—I was all shades of unwell—damn allergies.

I’m feeling 40x better today but yesterday was a itchy and scratchy and running nose mess.

So after all that fixer-upper biznass, me and Sauce went to SWG for a quick drink at their anniversary event.

It was packed and I was pissed because the waiters kept passing me whenever they had food [it’s like they knew I was hungry but were being jerks and not giving up the goods].

I like SWG but if they were trying to convince people to come to their restaurant based off what they passed, then perhaps they should have passed some tastier items.

Cheese puffs, coconut scrimps, ravioli thing with seafood or something, and calamari [is what I saw being passed].

Cheese puffs were tasteless puffs of bread…I certainly didn’t taste any cheese but I guess it was baked into the croissant like structure?

Coconut scrimps were meh. The accompanying sauce is what made it taste good but there wasn’t enough sauce in the dish to get a good dip on the scrimps.

The ravioli thing was okay—the pasta dough was too thick and the sauce was not seasoned…maybe a faux-lobster ravioli…couldn’t really say and the waiters didn’t even tell you what you were eating.

The calamari kept passing me and I was so pissed because I wanted it and all these pigs kept taking seconds and thirds and I got none.

Oh vells.

We came home and I made some Spiedie chicken for Sauce.

It’s a NY southern tier thing but it’s basically grilling up some marinated lamb, chicken or beef in a garlicky, white wine delicious mixy-marinade.

My Spiedie mix is from Weggies—all I did was put some chicken into the wok, add the Spiedie mix and let it cook until the chicken pieces are somewhat charred [or burnt, per Sauce’s advise] and then simmer that down for a bit.

I did a quick rice and veggie combo and then threw the Spiedie over top and voila.

Traditionally you’re supposed to put the meats into a slice of bread but rice sufficed.

I love all things NY [upstate NY—preferably WNY, not bad downstate NY].
