Bonjour.
Yesterday afternoon was wacky.
Here’s the Cliff’s Notes version:
so I leave work to go grab something next door and I see this really tall business guy in a suit and this shorter regular guy in shorts having a confrontation on the corner of lex/40 by starbucks.
the shorts guy is like “DID YOU NOT TAKE YOUR MEDICINE BUDDY” and at this point both sides of the street are watching this confrontation, THEN! the suit guy reaches into his suit and goes to pull out something [I immediately thought gun and like turned away because I was freaking out].
everyone on the street like ducks down to the ground.
and then the suit guy proceeds to lurch forward and CHASE, at full speed, the shorts guy.
he chases him up about half way to the W hotel on lex.
then the suit guy stops and jumps into ONCOMING TRAFFIC and everyone SLAMS THEIR brakes–even an MTA bus.
I call 911 and then the shorts guy is like on the other side of the street and doesn’t know what to do and the suit guy [in the road] turns towards him and starts to chase him again.
at this point, everyone on lex is like running into stores.
so then the suit guys jumps BACK into traffic, again.
and I’m still on with 911.
nypd finally show up and then the suit guy like starts to walk away on 40th towards park.
he walked away as if ‘nothing happened’ then everyone was screaming at NYPD to go chase after him.
so wild—and the guy in shorts just kept screaming HELP HELP HELP and everyone was like trying to get out of the suit guys way because he was clearly insane-o—but he looked like a totally normal person; tall, good-looking, nice suit…so sketchy.
New York man, New York!
I looked up on news places, Post and Daily, but didn’t see anything about it.
After I left yesterday and got on the train, my brain sort of hurt and I was overall feeling crummy—too much action for Nina.
Today, I woke up feeling barf-tastical and had a minor panic attack when I investigated some things this morning that made my eyes want to roll onto the floor.
I won’t get into it because it’s trivial but I’m still not feeling so hot-to-trot.
Also, I’ve somehow been semi-duped into an apartment scam because yesterday, for the sake of looking, I checked out what apartment’s are going for these days and I found one at Park Square West and it was listed as only $1,300 for 1,076 sq feet…I found this incredulous and I was skeptical in replying to the ad—anyways, once the “person” contacted me, I knew shit was fishy because he was talking all incorrect and non-professional and definitely wasn’t familiar with proper US grammar.
Besides that, dude was talking about Western Union and shit and bank account numbers and I’m like “um, no”.
Worst of all, this was all coming from Rentals.com and Rent.com [part of ebay] and it looked like it was coming from Park Square—so if I wasn’t on my p’s and q’s, who knows.
Nonetheless, I emailed the asshat back and was like “GEE THANKS BUDDY! THANKS FOR THE GREAT INFORMATION! BUT I WILL BE PASSING ON THIS FABULOUS OPPORTUNITY”.
Operation Vacation starts soon.
Tomorrow night I’m tentatively meeting up with my college friend Kristi [who’s getting married in August and I haven’t seen in forever] and our other friend Nikki—they want to go to Alive@5 but I’m apprehensive after last weeks shitstorm…plus Sauce is going to softball, so that sort of limits my manly escort.
Decisions.
