i guess some yoga can make you crazy?

I’m feeling nice today.

Last night I ran over to the grocery store to restock our freezer because Mr. Wordy left the freezer door open [though I’ve done this before but I don’t remember what happened before…].

No worries because our freezer was a hot mess, piled with weird food items.

After that I did another new Yoga—Yin Yoga which was BOOOORRRRRING.

I actually ended up doing Power Yoga afterwards because I felt like I didn’t even do anything.

Yin Yoga was just sitting in asanas for like 15 minutes straight—um what does that do?

Besides make you “melt away”—also the lady was talking trash about how your “feelings and thoughts are in your kidneys”.

Um, my feelings and thoughts are in my brain, not my kidneys.

She kept talking about all this other crazy stuff about your liver having memories—yeah, my liver has memories of me abusing it daily with booze and it’s say “Please, no more”…but other than that, it doesn’t have memories.

Wacky lady.

I was reading in the biblioteca yesterday about Kandalini Yoga, which was some scary ass shit.

It’s like taboo yoga and apparently it makes you go crazy or something…there’s this thing called the “Kandalini Awakening” and I guess if you reach that level you experience depersonalization or something.

I don’t know—Carl Jung was not a fan:

One often hears and reads about the dangers of Yoga, particularly of the ill-reputed Kundalini Yoga. The deliberately induced psychotic state, which in certain unstable individuals might easily lead to a real psychosis, is a danger that needs to be taken very seriously indeed. These things really are dangerous and ought not to be meddled with in our typically Western way. It is a meddling with Fate, which strikes at the very roots of human existence and can let loose a flood of sufferings of which no sane person ever dreamed. These sufferings correspond to the hellish torments of the chönyid state…”   C. G. Jung, Introduction to The Tibetan book of the Dead *

Anyways, I don’t see how this can happen but I guess if you’re wacky it could.

I definitely think I’m more of a Pilates person—after doing both off and on for 2-weeks now, Pilates seems more beneficial to me.

I do however feel different…longer, if that makes any sense hahahahha: GUMMMMBY.

Moving on, this Friday me and Wordy are doing a dinner date with Sarge and his lady friend as a part of restaurant week [Stamford].

I’m looking forward to that, even though I won’t be able to get trashed because the next day we’re going to watch the Loganator [overnight], which will require me to be in good mental spirit aka non-hungover because she’s not a big fan of Wordy, yet, but maybe she’s changed?
